Cities and towns near Zion National Park

Springdale:

Springdale is a small community located only a walk or shuttle ride from the south entrance of Zion National Park. Springdale has accommodations available that include food and also a great selection of guides and outfitters. Guides are available for hiking, canyoneering, rock climbing, and more. There are rentals available with gear and equipment for water hikes, canyoneering, climbing, biking, etc. Many visitors to Zion often stay overnight in Springdale for locational convenience and the views of the park from your front door. There is a shuttle in town that is only minutes away from the visitor center of Zion National Park. 

Mt. Carmel Junction:

Mt. Carmel Junction has numerous restaurants, hotels, motels, resorts, a golf course, guides, and outfitters. Mt. Carmel Junction offers easy access to Kanab, Bryce Canyon, The Grand Canyon, and pie! Some of the many nearby lodging choices are Zion Mountain Ranch, Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, Thunderbird Lodge, and 80 & Nine Motel. An outfitter that provides services from this area is  East Zion Adventures, who can help you get set up for an adventure hiking, canyoneering, horseback riding, jeep tours, rappelling, and more.

Hurricane

A city of just over 20,000, Hurricane is called her-ah-kun by the locals and is situated only about 20 miles from Zion National Park, just off the main freeway through Utah—the I-15. In a nutshell, Hurricane has everything that one would want when visiting the park and often serves as the go-to for items that the smaller, much closer towns would not have available. They will have everything from stores that sell outdoor equipment to large food markets, restaurants, lodging, and more.

St. George:

St. George Utah just off Interstate 15 (I-15) on the way from Vegas to Zion National Park, making it a very popular place to stay. St. George has great outdoor recreation, food, supplies, and overnight accommodations. St. George draws in shopping enthusiasts, golfers, mountain bikers, hikers, and explorers. Some of the many St. George attractions include Tuacahn, Snow Canyon State Park, Veyo Pool, Quail Creek State Park, and Historic Downtown St. George— St. George is full of opportunity for adventure plus all the necessities.
