A Lowkey Resort

Eagle Point Ski Resort

Eagle Point is near Beaver Utah - 3 hours south of Salt Lake City.

While Eagle Point houses some of the “Greatest Snow on Earth,” this resort is uncrowded, unsoiled, relatively inexpensive, and down to earth. Many people traveling through Las Vegas use Eagle Point to detox, and for good reason!
With 650 acres of skiable terrain and 40 named runs, this mid-sized resort is a great place to escape the crowds found at other Utah resorts. Its elevation spans 9,100 ft to 10,600 ft and boasts 5 lifts (including one short surface lift to connect some of its black runs). On average, Eagle Point sees 350 inches of snow per season.

The on-site lodging includes an affordable collection of ski-in ski-out condos and vacation homes. In terms of dining, Eagle Point has two fully-renovated day lodges that house the resort’s facilities and dining services. The Canyonside Lodge, specifically, features the Outpost Grille and Lounge, which is a go-to for dinner and drinks. However, Eagle Point as a whole is fairly lowkey, so don’t expect many lavish wine bars, boutiques, or day spas.

You can access Eagle Point on the Indy Pass, Yeti Pass, Gold Pass, and Ski Utah Passport. If you’re visiting during the summertime, you can find plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and exploring opportunities to take in breathtaking scenery and fascinating wildlife.

History

Eagle Point Ski Resort was opened in 1972 by Amy and Conrad Koning, who envisioned creating an accessible getaway for skiers and snowboarders in the Wasatch Mountains near Beaver, Utah. The resort consisted of just two chairlifts when it first opened its doors but quickly grew as the popularity of skiing increased in the area. By 1978, Eagle Point Ski Resort had added five more chair lifts and one of the first aerial tramways in the world, which allowed a maximum capacity of 1,500 skiers at any given time.
