Mountain Biking In Utah

Mountain biking in Utah is well known and said to be some of the best in the world. Visitors are drawn to Utah for the varying landscapes, canyons, and over 1,200 mountain biking trails of all terrain types throughout the state. There are 5 National Parks, 7 National Monuments, 43 State Parks, countless forested, mountainous, and slick red rock trails to explore. Utah is well equipped for mountain biking all year with ski lifts turned mountain biking trail lifts in the summer, warm desert temperatures, and fat biking in the winter.

Seasons

The mountain biking season is long and southern Utah offers milder winter temperatures. Up north, the snow does not stop fat tire biking on the many available winter trails. Summers in Park City are perfect getaway from the summer heat with lift-served mountain biking. Spring and fall offer incredible opportunities with mild temperatures, bright colors, and beautiful mountain trails to explore.

Tips

  • Stay on the trails, go over obstacles rather than around them. 
  • Uphill riders the right of way. 
  • Mountain biking requires a good amount of energy, bring food/snacks and plenty of water.  
  • Have proper navigational tools, service can be limited. 
  • Do not ride on wet trails.
