Lodging in Zion National Park

There are some incredible lodging options inside Zion National Park and in the surrounding areas. Guests who visit Zion National Park often find overnight accommodations inside the park itself, Springdale, St. George, Hurricane, Mount Carmel Junction, Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, and the East Zion area. Types of lodging include tent camping, RV, cabins, vacation home rentals, Conestoga wagons, tiny homes, hotel, motels, and more. Below is an overview of the surrounding communities and their lodging options: 

Zion Ponderosa

Zion National Park

Inside Zion National Park there are a few overnight accomodation options. A few of them are camping with space for RV and trailer. There is also Zion Lodge located right at the heart and Main Canyon of the action in Zion National Park. Zion Lodge offers cabins, hotel rooms, suites, and two dining options.

There are three campgrounds inside Zion National Park: 

Watchman Campground: Open year-round and located a quarter of a mile from the South Entrance of the park.

South Campground: A seasonal campground half a mile from the South Entrance.

Lava Point Campground: A seasonal primitive site campground that is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the South Entrance. 

East Zion

East Zion is a blossoming region on the east side of Zion National Park often referred to as the "quiet side" of Zion. This area offers some truly incredible lodging opportunity like Zion Mountain Ranch or Zion Ponderosa. Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort offers more things to do than any resort in the state of Utah and a wide range of lodging options: tent camping, RV site, cabins, Conestoga wagons, tiny homes, large vacation rentals, and yurts. 

Mount Carmel Junction is 13 miles from the East Entrance of Zion National Park and rooms at 89 and Nine,  Thunderbird Lodge, Arrowhead Country Inn and Cabins, or Mt. Carmel Motel and RV Park.

Further up Highway 89 is a town called Orderville which has some really fun overnight accommodations, like a treehouse for example. Stay at The Escape to East Zion or East Zion Resort.

St. George

St. George is a popular place for those visiting Zion National Park to stay. Saint George is a one hour drive from the South Entrance of the park. See lodging in St. George for more details.

Springdale

Springdale is a great place to stay when Visiting Zion National Park. The town of Springdale is inches from the park itself and runs a shuttle program into the park. It is a bustling community with various lodging options, including hotels, motels, inns, bed and breakfasts, and campgrounds. Springdale provides convenient access to the park, and many accommodations offer excellent views of the surrounding red rock formations.

Virgin

Located north of Springdale, Virgin is another community where visitors can find some good lodging. Accommodations in Virgin may offer a more relaxed atmosphere compared to Springdale while still providing proximity to Zion National Park. Lodging options include hotels, cabins, and vacation rentals.

La Verkin

The small town of La Verkin is not far off I-15 and 30 minutes from the South Entrance of Zion National Park. This sweet town offers a quieter setting for visitors within a reasonable distance from the park. In La Verkin you will find budget friendly hotel/motels.

Hurricane

Hurricane is not far off 1-15 and just over 30 minutes from the South Entrance of Zion National Park. Hurricane is a bustling city that provides a variety of accommodations, including hotels, motels, RV site, camping, and vacation rentals. Staying in Hurricane allows visitors to explore not only Zion National Park but other nearby attractions like Sand Hollow and Quail Creek State Parks for example.

Kanab

Kanab is located to the east of Zion National Park and south of Mount Carmel Junction. Kanab is known for its proximity to multiple national parks and scenic areas. At about 45 minutes from the East Entrance of Zion National Park, it is a bit further from Zion but offers a range of possibilities. Lodging options in Kanab include hotels, motels, vacation rentals, camping, RV, sites, and bed and breakfasts. Visitors staying in Kanab are often coming from the Grand Canyon or Horseshoe Bend where they can continue on to explore Zion National Park and other natural wonders in the region like the Coral Pink Sand Dunes or Sand Caves for example.
