Camping/Lodging in Anasazi State Park

Anasazi State Park is a museum and park in Boulder, Utah. It is home to the ruins of an ancient village believed to have been inhabited by Ancestral Puebloans as long ago as 750 AD. The state park offers camping and lodging options for visitors looking to explore the area and get a feel for what life was like during this era.

There are no campgrounds right by the state park but there are a bunch within a 20-30 mile radius of the museum. There are both private and public campgrounds to choose from, with amenities ranging from electric hookups to primitive sites. Most of the sites offer beautiful views of the surrounding red rock canyons and provide a great base for exploring Anasazi State Park.

For visitors looking for something a bit more luxurious, there are several lodges and hotels located within a few miles of the park. These range from budget-friendly to luxury accommodations and can provide a comfortable base for exploring Anasazi State Park and its surrounding area. Some of these lodges offer guided tours of the ancient ruins as well as hikes into the canyons.

Calf Creek Campground

Calf Creek Campground is a great camping option near Anasazi State Park. The campground offers electric and non-electric sites, as well as group sites. Non-electric sites offer primitive camping with just basic amenities such as fire pits and picnic tables. There are also two group sites for those looking to host large get-togethers. Calf Creek Campground is located along a beautiful creek and is the perfect place to relax and take in the scenery.

Deer Creek Campground

Deer Creek Campground is another fantastic area for camping near Anasazi State Park. The campground offers non-electric sites and primitive and RV sites with electric hookups. Deer Creek Campground also has two group sites available for larger groups. It is located right off of the pristine Deer Creek, making it the perfect place for fishing, swimming, and other water activities.

Scenic Byway 12 Campsite

For those looking for an even more primitive camping experience, the Scenic Byway 12 Campsite is a great option. Located along the beautiful byway, this campground offers primitive sites with no hookups or running water. It’s a great spot if you want to get away from it all and just relax in nature.

Oak Creek Campground

Oak Creek Campground is a great choice for those looking for camping near Anasazi State Park. The campground offers electric and non-electric sites as well as group sites. It is situated along the beautiful Oak Creek, making it perfect for fishing and swimming. Plenty of hiking trails in the vicinity of the campground offer stunning views of the red rock canyons in Fishlake National Forest.

Bird Species

Bird watching is a popular activity in Anasazi State Park and visitors can spot many species here, including woodpeckers, quail, grouse and jays. The park is also home to numerous waterfowl such as ducks, geese and swans. Warblers, hummingbirds and other songbirds are also commonly seen around the area, making it a haven for birders.
