Temple Square
First up is Temple Square. Temple Square is a massive 10-acre complex located downtown, established by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1847. This gorgeous space includes two temple spires, a large reflecting pool, and many other religious and architectural monuments. Inside the visitor’s center, you will find interactive exhibits explaining much of the history of the LDS faith. Temple Square is also home to numerous concerts and events, including the popular annual Christmas lights display in December.

This is The Place Monument is one of the most unique places to visit in Salt Lake City. This site marks where Brigham Young and his followers first arrived in the Utah Valley in 1847, and it’s a great place to learn more about this meaningful event in Mormon history. Here you can explore a replica pioneer village and many interactive exhibits. The nearby This is the Place Heritage Park offers a fun and educational experience, with old-fashioned activities like blacksmithing demonstrations and wagon rides, perfect for families. There's also a great view from this spot of downtown Salt Lake City and the beautiful Wasatch Mountains in the background.
Utah State Capitol Building
The Utah State Capitol Building is another must-see in Salt Lake City. City Creek Center is a vibrant shopping and dining complex in downtown Salt Lake City. A beautiful creek also runs through the mall's center, adding charm and making it a great place for an afternoon stroll.
