Lake Powell Itinerary

5 Day Itinerary

Day 1:
South end of the lake.
Start your trip by driving to one of the marinas adjacent to Page, Arizona. Here, you can rent a boat or houseboat for your trip. If you choose a houseboat, make sure to stock it with all the supplies you'll need for the week, including food, water, and any other amenities. Once you have your boat, set out onto the lake and start exploring. There is over 2,000 miles of coastline at Lake Powell, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to find secluded coves and beaches to relax on.

Day 2:
Today, head as far up the lake as desired. At the north end of the lake is Bullfrog Marina and many visitors start their Lake Powell experience from this location. This marina is a popular spot for boat rentals, and it's also a great place to  start if you want to explore the northern part of the lake. Between Page, Arizona and Bullfrog Marina is the beautiful Rainbow Bridge National Monument, which is one of the most iconic attractions at Lake Powell. This natural stone bridge is a popular spot for hiking, picnicking, and photography.

Day 3:
Spend the day exploring the inlets and canyons around mid-lake marina  Dangling Rope. This marina is located in a remote area of the lake and is only accessible by boat. It's a great spot to refuel, restock on supplies, and learn more about the history of the lake. While you're there, take a hike to the top of the nearby cliffs for stunning views of the lake and surrounding landscape.

Day 4:
Spend the day on the water, swimming, fishing, and enjoying all that Lake Powell has to offer. There are many hidden coves and beaches to discover, and the lake is home to a variety of fish, including bass, catfish, and crappie.

Day 5:
On your final day at the lake, take some time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Spend the morning lounging on the boat or go for a final swim in the crystal-clear waters. In the afternoon, start making your way back to your starting marina, where you'll dock your boat and start the journey home. Overall, Lake Powell is a beautiful and unique destination that offers something for everyone. Whether you're interested in fishing, boating, hiking, or just relaxing, you'll find plenty of ways to enjoy your time on the lake.
