Westminster College

History

Westminster College is a private, liberal arts college located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The school was founded in 1875 as the Salt Lake Collegiate Institute, and it was later renamed Westminster College in honor of its founding benefactor, William Gladstone Westminster. Over the years, Westminster has grown and evolved, but it has always remained true to its core mission of providing a high-quality, personalized education to its students.

Current Enrollment

As of the 2021-2022 academic year, Westminster has an enrollment of approximately 2,000 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students. The student body is diverse, with students coming from all 50 states and over 40 countries.

Westminster is known for offering a range of high-quality academic programs, including several that are consistently ranked among the best in the nation. Westminster's business program is ranked #80 in the country, and its nursing program is ranked #89. Westminster's engineering program is also highly regarded, with a ranking of #128 in the country.

Sports Programs

Westminster fields teams in a variety of sports, including football, basketball, soccer, track and field, and more. The school is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Frontier Conference. Westminster's football team has had a particularly successful history, winning six conference championships and making numerous playoff appearances. The basketball team has also had a number of successful seasons, including a trip to the NAIA national championship game in 2010.
