Eagle Point Ski Resort is a world-class ski destination located in the beautiful Utah mountains near Beaver, Utah. It is the only resort in the state to feature an aerial tramway. The resort has been a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding since its opening in 1972.
Eagle Point Ski Resort was opened in 1972 by Amy and Conrad Koning, who envisioned creating an accessible getaway for skiers and snowboarders in the Wasatch Mountains near Beaver, Utah. The resort consisted of just two chairlifts when it first opened its doors but quickly grew as the popularity of skiing increased in the area. By 1978, Eagle Point Ski Resort had added five more chair lifts and one of the first aerial tramways in the world, which allowed a maximum capacity of 1,500 skiers at any given time.
Originally called Elk Meadows Ski Area, the resort was soon renamed to Eagle Point Ski Resort in honor of a nearby peak known as “Eagle’s Point”. The towering tramway allowed unprecedented access to some of the most difficult slopes in Utah and quickly established itself as one of the premier ski destinations in the United States.
